Rate Limit Headers
Two headers: one says what is left, the other how long to wait. A successful response carries your remaining budget; a 429 Too Many Requests response carries the delay before retrying. Back off exponentially on 429s.
| Header | Description |
|---|---|
X-Rate-Limit-Remaining | Requests remaining in the current window for this endpoint’s tier. Returned on every successful request. |
X-Rate-Limit-Retry-After-Seconds | Whole seconds to wait before retrying. Returned only on a 429 Too Many Requests response. |
Watch out: the budget is per tier, not per endpoint. Hitting the limit on one Tier 3 endpoint blocks every other Tier 3 endpoint until the bucket refills; other tiers are unaffected. Per-tier allocations are listed under Rate Limits.
