Finding Companies
Three routes into the company graph, depending on what you’re holding:
| You have… | Use | Why |
|---|---|---|
| A website domain or LinkedIn URL | Company Enrich | Strong identifiers resolve directly — one call, full record. |
| Only a name | Company Match | Returns scored candidates; you pick, then enrich by id. |
| Criteria, not identities | Category / Product customer search | Builds company lists from vendorgraphic signals (“companies that buy X”). |
Resolving a name#
Holding only a name? Company Match scores up to 50 candidates, best-match first. Auto-accept a confident position-1 hit; queue ambiguous ones for review rather than guessing. The full field reference, ranking model, and failure modes live in Company Matching — start there before wiring up match calls.
Normalize first#
Match already normalizes domains server-side, but cleaning inputs up front still pays off: run the free-tier Normalize website URL and Normalize LinkedIn URL utilities over your data to lift match rates and give yourself dedupe-ready identifiers to store.
From companies to people#
Company lists are usually a means to an end. Take the matched company ids into Discover with a company.aggkCompanyId filter to find the people who matter at those accounts — the full pattern is in Build a Prospecting Search.
