Company
A company record represents a real-world operating entity, keyed by a stable AggKnowledge company id. Companies appear in two places in the API, and it’s the same object in both:
- Embedded — inside every person work experience, so person enrichment gives you employer firmographics for free.
- Standalone — via the Company APIs (Enrich, Match, Search, Fetch descriptions) when the company itself is your subject.
Identifiers — the ways to reference a company and which one to store — are covered on their own page.
What’s on the record#
A company record spans identity (name, displayName, website, socialProfile), firmographics (employee count and range, revenue range, industry, companyType, ticker/exchange), funding (totals, round count, latest stage/amount/date), and location. For the field-by-field reference — every name, type, and note — see the Company data dictionary; this guide covers the parts that need explanation rather than a lookup.
Two of those parts have their own pages: corporate structure (ultimateParent, parents and subsidiaries) below, and the commercial-relationship signals — technographics, products & services, customers and vendors — in Vendorgraphics.
Parents and subsidiaries#
People are attached to the entity they actually work for. If you operate on corporate families (“everyone under Alphabet”), resolve ultimateParent and aggregate on your side — the API will not silently roll subsidiaries up for you.
Private equity owners#
Financial owners are separate from the corporate parent. The private equity firms that hold a company, with their funds and holding dates, are covered in Private Equity Ownership.
